This blog aims to teach the outside world about how the science of persuasion is being used in political campaign ads. While everyone knows that political ads are trying to persuade them, very few people know the exact techniques that are being used on them. Each post on this blog will highlight a specific political campaign ad and inform our readers of some, not all, the persuasion techniques that are being used. We aim to create an informative, easy to read blog. We want this blog to raise awareness in our family and friends, complete strangers, and basically anyone who is interested in this political campaign. My students who are posting on this blog should realize that the goal is not to identify all the persuasion factors used in a single ad. Rather, their goal should be to document a few major tools being used in the ad and provide a summary of a few important social psychological studies supporting their claims.
